1995 ADMIRALS CUP 28.09.06

EVENT
A series of inshore races around the Solent culminating in the Fastnet.

CREW
Crewed event. 8 crew on a Mumm 36’, 12 crew on the middle boat and 15 on the biggest boat

SUMMARY
Normally dominated by the French and Italians, Golding was selected to represent Great Britain through trials by the RYA/RORC, who put up the team.
The Admirals Cup is considered one of the most prestigious, inshore Grand Prix events, second only to the Americas Cup.

Teams from all around the world enter 3 different classes of boats. This event is normally reserved for Olympic/Grand Prix sailors, so was an interesting challenge for Golding, as his professional sailing career had only recently started. Sponsored by Group 4 Securitas, Golding surprised everyone, including himself, by winning the trials.
