EVENT
The EDS Atlantic Challenge was the 1st ever fully crewed transatlantic event for the Open 60 class boats

LEG 1 - 3-6 July: St Malo (France) – Hamburg (Germany)
LEG 2 - 8-12 July: Hamburg – Portsmouth (UK)
LEG 3 - 5-8 August: Portsmouth - Baltimore (USA)
LEG 4 – 6-9 August: Baltimore – Boston (USA)
LEG 5 – 14-26 August: Boston - St Malo (France)

SUMMARY
Mike Golding and his ‘ECOVER’ crew took 3rd place overall in the EDS Atlantic Challenge after a consistent 7 weeks of racing. Kingfisher won overall and French boat Sill Plein Fruits took 2nd.

LEG 1 – ‘ECOVER’ finished 3rd, closely behind Kingfisher in 2nd and Sil took 1st place.

LEG 2 – ‘ECOVER’ finished 4th, behind Sil in 1st, then Kingfisher 2nd and Gartmore in 3rd

LEG 3 – ‘ECOVER’ finished 3rd after a great battle for 2nd place with Sil

LEG 4 – With only 1 hour between them, ‘ECOVER’ came in 2nd after Kingfisher.

LEG 5 - With only 4 miles between the 1st three boats, ‘ECOVER’ finished 3rd, just 26 minutes behind Sill and an hour behind the winning Kingfisher.
